ZW was appointed Principal Contractor on this major U.K. resort expansion in 1997 and delivered the completed facility in 1999. The $250 million expansion to the Celtic Manor Hotel has transformed the resort into the largest hotel and conference centre of its kind in Wales and one of the finest facilities in the U.K. and Europe.
Set on 1400 acres of panoramic parkland in the Usk Valley, known as the gateway to Wales, this resort features 2 hotels: a 5-star resort hotel and a historic 19th century manor house; as well as a range of facilities which include a comprehensive convention centre and exhibition hall, 31 function rooms, 5 restaurants, a 1,500 seat ballroom, a state-of-the-art leisure complex, and 334 rooms.
Mechanical, electrical, building management system, communication services, and the finishing’s all utilize leading edge technology. Though faced with the challenge of researching, procuring, and incorporating the unique features that make the Celtic Manor Hotel a benchmark for other facilities, as well as the management of a large consultant team this project was completed ahead of schedule.
